EV Charger Installation and Infrastructure Support Across NSW

Aether Installations is expanding its EV charger installation and EV charging infrastructure network across New South Wales.

We support residential EV charger installations, apartment and strata EV charging, workplace charging, dealership charging, commercial EV charging and larger infrastructure projects.

Every project is reviewed based on property type, switchboard capacity, charger location, cable route, electrical supply, access and compliance requirements.

For straightforward residential homes, we can often quote from photos. For apartments, strata buildings, commercial sites, multi-charger projects or unclear electrical conditions, an assessment may be required before fixed pricing is confirmed.

Residential EV Charger Installation NSW

Aether Installations supports residential EV charger installation enquiries across selected NSW regions.

For standard homes, we can often provide a quote from photos of the switchboard, charger location and cable route. A typical residential EV charger installation may include a dedicated EV charging circuit, correct circuit protection, charger mounting, testing, commissioning and customer handover.

Most standard residential install-only EV charger installations start from $1,450 inc GST.

Three-phase or higher-capacity residential installations typically start from $1,650 inc GST.

Final pricing depends on cable distance, switchboard capacity, charger location, phase supply, access, charger setup and any required upgrades.

Strata and Apartment EV Charging NSW

Apartment and strata EV charging requires more planning than a standard home charger installation.

Shared electrical infrastructure, switchboard capacity, car park layout, cable pathways, resident demand, load management and owners corporation approval all need to be considered before an installation pathway is recommended.

Aether Installations supports NSW strata EV charging projects through EV readiness assessments, staged infrastructure planning, load management review and installation pathway recommendations.

Strata EV readiness assessments start from $1,150 inc GST, with infrastructure works quoted based on the building, electrical capacity, charger quantity, cable pathways and rollout requirements.

Strata EV charging support may include:

• EV readiness assessment

• Car park and cable pathway review

• Switchboard and electrical capacity review

• Load management considerations

• Staged rollout planning

• Resident charging pathway

• Owners corporation support

• Infrastructure quote after assessment

Commercial EV Charging NSW

Aether Installations supports commercial EV charging projects across selected NSW regions, including workplaces, dealerships, workshops, fleet sites, retail locations and commercial properties.

Commercial EV charging projects should not be priced from guesswork. Site capacity, charger quantity, cable pathways, usage patterns, load management, access requirements and future expansion plans need to be reviewed before installation pricing is confirmed.

Commercial EV feasibility assessments start from $1,150 inc GST. Final infrastructure works are quoted based on site conditions, available electrical capacity, charger quantity, load management requirements and rollout plan.

Commercial EV charging support may include:

• Workplace EV charging
• Dealership EV charging
• Fleet charging

Once approved, the job is scheduled with a suitable licensed electrician or NSW delivery partner.

5. Testing and Handover

The installation is tested, commissioned and handed over with required compliance documentation.

NSW EV Charger Installation Pricing

Pricing depends on the property, charger, switchboard capacity, cable route, phase supply, access and installation complexity.

Aether does not guess fixed pricing for unsafe, unclear or complex installations.

  • This applies when the customer already has a compatible EV charger and needs Aether to arrange installation.

Best suited for straightforward residential properties where the switchboard is accessible, the charger location is clear and the cable route is not complex.

A standard install-only job may include:

    • Installation of a customer-supplied wall-mounted EV charger

    • Dedicated EV charging circuit

    • Required circuit protection

    • Standard cable route where suitable

    • Charger mounting

    • Testing and commissioning

    • Customer handover

    • Compliance documentation where required

Final pricing may change if the property requires a longer cable run, switchboard upgrades, double-storey access, complex routing, load management, solar or battery integration, pedestal mounting or other additional works.

  • This applies where the installation requires three-phase supply or higher-capacity charging, such as selected 11kW or 22kW AC charger setups.

Three-phase installations are not automatically suitable for every property or EV. The final charging speed may also depend on the vehicle’s onboard AC charging capacity.

    A three-phase or higher-capacity installation may involve:

    • Three-phase charger installation where suitable

    • Review of available supply and switchboard capacity

    • Appropriate circuit protection

    • Cable route planning

    • Testing and commissioning

    • Customer handover

    • Compliance documentation where required

Additional works such as switchboard upgrades, load management, supply upgrades, long cable runs or complex routing are not included in the starting price and must be quoted separately.

  • This option is for customers who want Aether to supply a suitable 7kW smart EV charger and arrange installation.

It is generally best suited to straightforward residential installations where single-phase charging is appropriate and the property can support the charger without major upgrades.

    This may include:

    • Supply of a selected 7kW smart EV charger

    • Installation of the charger

    • Dedicated EV charging circuit

    • Required circuit protection

    • Basic charger setup

    • Testing and commissioning

    • Customer handover

    • Compliance documentation where required

Final pricing depends on charger selection, switchboard condition, cable distance, installation location, access, WiFi/app setup requirements and any additional electrical work required.

  • This option is for customers who want a solar-aware smart charger, commonly suited to homes with solar or customers wanting more control over how their EV charging interacts with solar generation.

A Zappi installation may require additional setup compared with a basic charger, especially where CT clamps, monitoring or solar-aware charging modes are required.

    This may include:

    • Supply of Zappi EV charger

    • Installation of dedicated EV charging circuit

    • Required circuit protection

    • CT clamp / monitoring setup where practical

    • Charger configuration

    • Testing and commissioning

    • Customer handover

    • Compliance documentation where required

Final pricing depends on the solar setup, switchboard layout, cable route, charger location, WiFi/app setup, phase supply and whether additional electrical work is required.

  • A residential EV charger site assessment is recommended when the installation cannot be confidently quoted from photos alone.

This may apply where there is a long cable run, double-storey access, unclear switchboard capacity, solar or battery complexity, difficult cable routing, older electrical infrastructure, detached garages, pedestal mounting or uncertain installation scope.

    The assessment may include:

    • Switchboard review

    • Charger location review

    • Cable pathway review

    • Phase supply check where practical

    • Site access review

    • Photos and installation notes

    • Recommendation on the correct installation pathway

If the customer proceeds with an approved Aether installation, the assessment fee may be credited toward the final installation quote where confirmed in writing.

  • A strata EV readiness assessment is recommended for apartment buildings, owners corporations, shared car parks and multi-resident properties.

Strata EV charging is not the same as a standard home charger installation. It may involve shared electrical infrastructure, car park cable pathways, switchboard limitations, resident demand, load management, access control, billing considerations and owners corporation approval.

    The assessment may include:

    • Review of existing electrical capacity and switchboard limitations

    • Car park and cable pathway review

    • Identification of suitable charger locations

    • Load management considerations

    • Staged rollout options

    • High-level budget guidance

    • Compliance considerations

    • Next-step recommendation for the owners corporation

Infrastructure works are quoted separately after assessment based on the building, electrical capacity, charger quantity, cable pathways and rollout requirements.

  • A commercial EV feasibility assessment is recommended for workplaces, dealerships, workshops, fleets, retail sites, destination charging and other business locations.

Commercial EV charging should not be priced from guesswork. The site needs to be reviewed for electrical capacity, charger quantity, vehicle usage, cable pathways, access requirements, load management and future expansion.

    The assessment may include:

    • Existing electrical supply and switchboard review

    • Charger location and cable pathway review

    • Number of chargers required now and in future

    • AC versus DC charging suitability

    • Load management considerations

    • Access control or user management requirements

    • Future expansion allowance

    • Installation constraints and compliance considerations

Final installation pricing is confirmed after site review and depends on scope, charger quantity, electrical capacity, infrastructure requirements and project complexity.

  • Larger EV charging projects require site-specific pricing. These projects may include strata buildings, commercial car parks, workplaces, dealerships, fleet depots, public charging locations, DC charging, load-managed systems or multi-charger infrastructure rollouts.

Pricing is confirmed after assessment or site review because the final scope may depend on:

    • Electrical capacity

    • Charger quantity

    • Charger type

    • Load management requirements

    • Cable containment

    • Switchboard or distribution board upgrades

    • Civil works or trenching

    • Access equipment

    • Metering or billing requirements

    • Staged rollout planning

    • Compliance and documentation requirements

Aether will not provide a fixed project price until the site conditions and infrastructure requirements are properly understood.

  • Supply-only charger purchases do not include installation, setup, commissioning, app configuration, CT clamp setup, load management, cable runs, circuit protection or site-specific electrical work.

EV chargers must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Aether recommends confirming charger suitability before purchase, especially for solar, three-phase, strata, commercial, older switchboards, long cable routes, pedestal mounting or complex sites.

If you are unsure whether a charger suits your property, request advice before purchasing.
