How This EV Charger Installation Calculator Works

The calculator uses Aether Installations’ public pricing pathways to estimate whether your project is likely to be a straightforward residential quote, a supplied-and-installed charger package, a site assessment, or a strata/commercial feasibility pathway.

The estimate considers property type, charger selection, cable distance, electrical supply, switchboard condition, solar or battery systems, access, protection requirements and mounting complexity.

It is designed to help customers understand the likely pathway before requesting a fixed quote.

Why EV Charger Installation Costs Vary

EV charger installation costs vary because every property is different.

A short, straightforward garage installation is not the same as a long cable run, older switchboard, double-storey property, apartment car park, commercial site or multi-charger rollout.

The charger itself is only one part of the total cost.

The installation may also require circuit protection, cable routing, switchboard review, load management, app setup, CT clamp configuration, pedestal mounting or site assessment.

If you are unsure whether your switchboard can support an EV charger, read our switchboard readiness guide.

When the Calculator Will Recommend an Assessment

The calculator may recommend an assessment when the installation cannot be responsibly priced from assumptions.

This commonly applies to apartments, strata properties, commercial sites, long or unclear cable routes, older switchboards, detached garages, pedestal-mounted chargers, trenching, solar and battery complexity, or multi-charger infrastructure.

Residential EV charger site assessments are $275 inc GST.

Strata EV readiness assessments and commercial EV feasibility assessments start from $1,150 inc GST.
